A strong collaborator with a background spanning both data analytics and engineering, enabling end-to-end ownership from data extraction to stakeholder meetings. With years of practical experience using SQL and Python to support data migrations, automate ETL-related processes and produce analytical reports for legal clients.
Alvis is a high-performing graduate (GPA 6.0/7.0) in the Bachelors of Applied Data Analytics from Australian National University. His interest in statistics and analysis began with lessons in commerce in high school and led him to pursue data analytics at university. During his studies, his first internship as a Java Developer sparked a deeper interest in cloud-infrastructure and handling data. Through this experience, he discovered the practical value of programming in analysing datasets and developed a strong motivation to continuously improve his analytical and technical skills.
A pivotal stage in Alvis' journey came during his subsequent internship at a legal-tech consultant organisation as a data analyst. While he demonstrated strong attention to detail and accountability, he recgonised the need to further develop collaboration and client communication skills. By actively seeking collegue feedback and stakeholder responses, he stepped outside his comfort zone and strengthened his ability to work effectively in team environments and in different project stages. This precious experience helped him grow into a more adaptable and collaborative professional
Following this, Alvis' jtransitioned into a data engineering role working with SQL, ETL workflows, developing analysis tools and managing multi-sourced datasets. In a fast-paced consultancy environment, he supported migration projects for law firms, built quality assurance (QA) checks, and collaboratively traslated analytical findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders. Through this experience, he strengthened his ability to manage competing priorities and balance technical depth with practice business outcomes. A key milestone in this role was streamlining data processing efficiency through redesigned workflows, reinforcing his interest in delivering clear and efficient insights.
Outside of data and analytics. Alvis bouldering, music, and grocery shopping with (or for) his parents; a small but meaningful way he stays grounded and connected to family.
